"Upland Chronicles of the Smokies" by F. Carroll McMahan

Many interesting and true histories about various people and places in the Smokies, each told in 1-3 pages by author F. Carroll McMahan.  The author resides in Knoxville, grew up in Sevierville, TN, and in 2010 organized Sevierville's annual Rose Glen Literary Festival.

Proud of his family lineage that goes back two centuries, writer F. Carroll McMahan feels a sense of place in the Smoky Mountains; hearing and sharing stories of his Appalachian kinsmen.

F. Carroll McMahan writes a weekly column called Upland Chronicles, a series that celebrates the heritage and past of Sevier County, published in the Mountain Press. Upland Chronicles of the Smokies is a compilation of 36 of the authors favorite columns shared in the Mountain Press.
